Meet the Danish Knowledge Institutions at Eurosatory 2022
Are you looking for:
3D-printing experts? // Climate testing? // Testing of new materials? … and much more?
Then come to Denmark, where you will find innovative Universities and Research & Technology Organisations ready to take your idea or product to the next level.
Here at EUROSATORY, you can meet two of the most innovative Universities and two of the most innovative Research & Technology Organisations in Denmark.
All represent a very strong research and technology depth and a large international outreach to partners in industry and academia abroad.
As the Governmentally appointed Danish innovation cluster for defence, space, and security, CenSec continuously brings together all the stakeholders within the three domains.
CenSec serves our 175 members as well as the Danish Government and the surrounding international defence community with innovation activities such as matchmaking, internationalisation, knowledge dissemination, and collaboration projects.
Building a bridge between the knowledge institutions and the defence industry is one of the most valuable activities in the whole innovation community.
Highly innovative science and research results can be released and transferred to the industry and improve the industry’s competitiveness, significantly generating new jobs, economic growth, and innovative capabilities.
This innovation process is possible when the industry and the Universities and Research & Technology Organisations are brought together in customised matchmaking activities managed by the cluster.

Aalborg University (AAU) is the second largest
technical university in Denmark.
The university is leading research into the current and next-generation technologies such as sustainable fuels, Industry 4.0, Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning, cyber security, and communication.
In recent years, AAU has demonstrated its capability and reputation, especially in the field of engineering.
AAU’s engineering educations are ranked in the first place in Europe (fourth worldwide) according to the report “The global state of the Art in Engineering Education, 2018,” issued by Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
In addition, AAU has extensive experience with European research projects in both the civilian programs, the European Defence Industrial Development Program, and the European Defence Fund. AAU collaborates with several French primes, e.g., Airbus, Atos, and Safran.
DTU Space is Denmarks largest space research institute and a recognized international institution.
We host Security DTU, a multidisciplinary centre for security and defence research & technology.
Through our activities, we contribute to Denmark’s defence industry.
We develop new technology, conduct research, educate engineers and PhD candidates and provide advice and innovation to our collaboration partners.
We use satellites, spacecraft, drones, aircraft, and measurements on the ground and at sea to study phenomena on Earth and in space.
Examples of our research and technology development activities based on space are radar systems, high precision technologies for Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) and drone systems.
The institute is a part of DTU, the Technical University of Denmark, the largest Danish institution for science and technology.
In the World University Research Rankings DTU is number one in Europe in it’s field and in the Leiden Ranking, Impact Indicator, DTU is leading in the Nordic Region.

Danish Technological Institute (DTI) is
a Danish RTO with 30+ years of experience with additive manufacturing (AM) and we use AM as an integrated part of the
We offer 3D printed end components in various metal and polymer materials
including Ti6AI4V, 316L, AISi10Mg,
Inconel and PA 12.
We can handle the entire process chain
from design and optimization to 3D printing, post-processesing, and quality assurance.
Our ISO 9001 certification guarantees
a systematic approach to quality and
DTI has expecience with production of
qualified parts through our internal
qualificiation capabilities and facilities.
We manufacture all parts in our modern
facilities in Denmark and we offer worldwide shipping.
At DTI we participate in and lead multiple large-scale research projects within various AM fields.
These include implementing and optimizing an AM production line (AM-line 4.0), energy optimization of components and systems (EASY-E), recycability and green transitioning using AM (VARETIT), and certification/qualification of critical parts (RepAIR).
We also have both physical and
virtual AM courses.
DEFEND ARCTIC – is a Danish operational collaboration aiming to develop equipment for system concepts in the Arctic area.
- The main objective is to bring companies together in a shared project, aiming to make the equipment work in conjunction in a system concept capable of operating in extreme climates with temperatures down to -51°C, capable of supporting operations in the Arctic area
- The system concept is targeted toward Search and Rescue (SAR) operations as well as the assertion of sovereignty in the Arctic area. The system should be seen as a box concept, where it is possible to acquire certain parts of the system, combinations or the entire system solution for the defensive role. The spectrum covers all levels from space to ground.
- The parties engaged in the Defend Arctic collaboration include both private companies that manufacture products such as drones, vehicles, radar equipment and containers and educational institutions that contribute with knowledge and research.
