Hi-Con’s story began at Aalborg Portland in 1986 when engineers developed a new type of concrete – Compact Reinforced Composite (CRC). This innovative material comprised a complex mix of binders and steel fibers, resulting in concrete with exceptional strength, durability, and low porosity. CRC’s distinctive properties, such as high density, allowed for thinner cover layers and reduced material usage compared to traditional concrete.

In 2001, our journey of continuous improvement began, evolving this remarkable material into CRC i2®️ and CRC i3®️ – the second and third generations of our innovative Ultra High Performance Concrete (UHPC). These materials retain CRC’s exceptional characteristics while offering even greater versatility.

CRC i2®️ and CRC i3®️ represent a new era in steel fiber-reinforced concrete, enabling the creation of slender elements with enhanced strength and durability. CRC i2®️, Denmark’s most developed UHPC, is rigorously tested and fully documented.
