The AILEEN project (centres of vocAtIonaL Excellence in aErospace & defence for advanced maNufacturing), is bringing together a network of organisations from seven European countries (Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Portugal, Spain, United Kingdom and Turkey), representing both education providers and industry, who share the same commitment of cooperating in a systematic way.
Aerospace & Defence ecosystem interconnects with various ecosystems, such as tourism, electronics, mobility, digital and other ecosystems.
Within the Ecosystem, manufacturing has a vital role in the Aerospace and Defence development, as it:
The establishment of Centres of Vocational Excellence (CoVEs) for Advanced Manufacturing (in Aerospace & Defence is strongly linked to the Aerospace & Defence skills need for qualified personnel to perform advanced manufacturing (e.g. brazing, welding, additive manufacturing ) inspection and coordinate manufacturing activities.
Development of the ecosystem in the targeted regions, will consider the assets already available, and integrate them in order to directly benefit from the integrated research, training and learning activities that will be promoted by the COVE in Advanced Manufacturing.
